Alright so how can you do that?
Now, you might be thinking, “You can’t sell junk.”
And you might be right (depending on what you have).
But before you take that position, just hear me out.
Everyone values stuff differently.
Just because you don’t see value in something doesn’t mean someone else wouldn’t.
A new perspective could pay off. Literally.
Ok, so now how do you go about selling?
Facebook Marketplace
People you know
Garage sales
Facebook Marketplace.
This platform is great for selling one item or many.
How to make an effective listing:
Market evaluation - Search for items just like yours to see what other people are selling them for.
Clean - Clean up your item to make it look new and well cared for.
Photos - Take photos where you would naturally find it in your home.
Title - If your first photo clearly shows what the listing is for, leverage your title to draw people to click.
Description - Start by talking about the benefits the buyer would receive, then features, and details last.
Example of listing.
Item for sale: Headboard.
Photo: Picture of clean, neat bedroom with headboard at center.
Title: Headboard - Tie your room together.
Description: Elevate your room and solidify your feelings as a mature adult by buying this headboard. It can attach straight to the wall or the bed frame you already have. It measures XX inches wide by XX inches high.
People You Know.
Sometimes the easiest way to sell something is just asking people you know who might have interest in it.
Example of conversation: “Hey, I was going to sell my XYZ and remembered you really liked it. Do you want it or should I list it?”
Garage Sales.
Garage sales are great if you need to get rid of LOTS of stuff. It is a lot of work but can allow you to make a lot of quick sales if the weather, location, and signage is good.
Conclusion.
Get out there, clear out, and cash in! $$$.
Crush it!
